Dutch Touch Florist has been providing high-quality, long-lasting flowers to south Calgarians since Tonnie Leatherdale opened the store in 1983. In 1986, she hired a young woman named Corina Hogan, and together the two of them became friends and business colleagues for the next 15 years. Then Tonnie retired and handed over the reins to Corina. “For both of us, it was an easy transition because I continued doing what we always did,” says Corina, who now runs the store.
Tonnie’s influence is still felt in the European flair she passed down to Corina. “I grew up in this shop,” says Corina. “There’s nobody else I would do this with. She’s the reason I’m still doing it.” That kind of experience and stability has helped Dutch Touch Florist succeed. Customers know the quality will be there every time they walk through the doors.
