Walking into CosaFina, in downtown Edmonton, will give you an appreciation of the finer things in life. The furnishings and home décor boutique opened in 2007, and, since day one, has been well known for high-end craftsmanship. “It’s always something we wanted to do. We love furniture and beautiful things and so that’s why we started,” says Maria Brosch, who, along with her husband, Tyrone, own CosaFina. “We have customers that just want to browse and that’s a compliment because they appreciate the unique collections and the quality of the pieces.”
CosaFina, which means 'fine thing' in Italian, is located just behind MacEwan University and near the new arena district downtown. Maria and Tyrone love being part of the vibrant atmosphere that has evolved in the heart of the city. “That ambience and being downtown creates a different feel than your typical big furniture store,” says Maria.
The old warehouse is a mix of urban contemporary and traditional design, with exposed brick walls and an open wood beam ceiling. It fits the style of the eclectic boutique. “We’ll put a contemporary piece next to something traditional,” says Maria. “We’ll have something that looks antique, pulled from a castle, right next to a lucite stool. We started with that style right from when we opened and we have never changed.”
