Julie did an outstanding job inspecting our home. She is detail oriented and highly knowledgeable. As a new home owner I would call her inspection a home owner course. She told us everything that needed to be done and how to do it. Julie is the best inspector out there! Book her for your inspection you will not be disappointed!
We've used the services of various home inspectors over the years in 3 different provinces. Julie completed the most thorough, detailed home inspection we've witnessed at 3.5+ hours. Julie is a consummate professional. She arrived early, took her time to complete her inspection in a methodical manner. She left no stone unturned & patiently took the time to fully answer our many questions. Julie is not an alarmist. She carefully explained every issue, enabling us to make an informed decision.

Julie did an outstanding job of inspecting our home. She is friendly, pet-tolerant, detail-oriented and highly knowledgeable. In fact, as a new home owner -first-time buyer. I would call her inspection more like a course in which you learn about almost all aspects of your home, and also how to repair and maintain it. Since a house is one of life's major investments, the information that Julie provides you in a binder is essential. She is also WETT certified, and has an electronics background which are welcome additions to her impeccable qualifications as a certified member of the Canadian Association of Home and Property Inspectors. Hi Gary You were so interactive & full of questions about your home. It made it a great inspection for me also. I have to admit, I have never had a small bird accompanying and talking to me over my shoulder before. An enjoyable inspection for me too
I hired this inspector to inspect my home during July 2012. The inspector said this would be a “full and thorough” inspection. The inspection lasted less than 20 minutes, the inspector had no ladder to inspect the roof (she observed the roofs of neighbouring houses – no binoculars). When I had another inspector come in, he mentioned that the HRV unit was broken, the filters had completely rotted, the air exchange was completely filthy, there was some shoddy electric work in the furnace, and there was an electrical outlet that did not meet safety regulations. Inspector was non-cooperative when the issues were brought up with her. Completely dissatisfied with the service.

I recall this inspection well. I was on site for approximately 90 minutes. The roof was inspected from several angles from ground level visually and with binoculars. Based upon the age of the home (approximately 8 years), and others in the immediate area (general comparison), deficiencies were not observed. Upon entering the home I immediately identified the clogged air intake, stating it must remain clear. I asked if the client would like to see it - they declined and asked if it would be in the report. It was. As an inspector, I wasn't allowed to apply power to the unit in case it was defective. This again was detailed within the report. This is why I would prefer to have my clients accompany me on the inspection and ask lots of questions. I feel that I certainly inspected this home and thoroughly. It is unfortunate that the client feels like they didn't get a fair shake. I implore all clients of any home inspections to be an active participant to avoid misunderstandings and disappointments.
We were referred to Peck Home Inspections, and experienced the best home inspection ever. We called Julie Peck (former military member), and were able to get a next day appointment during a busy home inspection time of the year. She arrived early and was eager not only to inspect the premises, but also educate us during the process. Julie has an incredible eye for detail, ensuring that the entire home is thoroughly inspected, inside and out. We have had several home inspections before and this has been by far, the most informative, thorough, and honest experience. Not only does she point out needed repairs, but also includes positive points about the structure, leaving you with a great understanding of the home. Following a 3.5 hour inspection, Julie prepared her report (binder) and debriefed us regarding her findings and recommendations. Julie took the time (2 hours) to not only discuss her report, but also educate us regarding proper home maintenance and things to watch for as home owners - this is not our first home. I felt as though I was attending a home ownership course - absolutely amazing. Julie attended Humber College, where she obtained her Home Inspection Certificate. She is also Wood Energy Technology Transfer (W.E.T.T.) certified. Julie gave us an incredible experience and I feel that I know our new home inside and out. You will not be disappointed.
