Sunday special price was ok..ordered my meal...arrived within a 5 minutes...fish was so dried out and overcooked like cardboard and batter was the same any more it would be charcoal.. the waitress did not come by to see or ask if everything was ok so i waited until I asked for the bill. No tip was given for my small order of fries and coleslaw. What a waste of my money as an ex restaurant cook ... my order was terrible as my rating. Sorry but service and quality very bad..compared to other cust
Great food, wonderful service and a perfect atmosphere for date night, night out with the fam, or just beers with the boys!!! Love all the servers and the pride they take in their jobs.
We moved to Burlington recently and were looking for a local pub. We love this place. Such a great hang out. The food is always great, especially the wings. My daughter loves the deep fried pickles. And the servers and always great.
Tried the Judge and Jury for the first time through a work group order for pick-up. The food was very good, so much that we decided to do it again the following week. We called in around 11am to place our order, in excess of $160.00 total and were told that the last time we ordered we put them 2 hours behind. We were informed that they could start preparing our food immediately and it would be ready 45 minutes prior to our lunch but would not prepare it for a 12:15 pick up. Needless to say this lack of customer service has made a very bad and lasting impression on us all. Rest assured that the Judge and Jury has seen the last of our business. Personally speaking, I will never set foot into that establishment again. You never say no to money in a business.
The atmosphere at this resteraunt it very busy and it is always packed. The waitresses are usually offering good service everytime I have went. The thing that makes me come back is the food is very very good made at a great quality.
Heard a lot about this place. Dropped by for lunch and it was comfortably busy. The temperature in the room was so cold that I left my coat on. I ordered the Yorkshire pudding dish and the pastry was not edible. Maybe it does well because of location, but I will not make the trek there again.
The place was packed for lunch. The previous night had been St. Patrick's Day and I gather they had pipers and even an Irish tenor. Needless to say it was packed then as well. But despite the large crowd the service was pleasant and quick, that is quick without being hurried. You have to ask yourself when you read the few poor reviews here if they are accurate or if they might be the fabrication of a jealous competitor - silverfish? Don't think so. The place is spotless. You also have to ask yourself if the place is indeed 'crawling with silverfish' why so many people are going to this restaurant? The answer is simply - great food at a fair price. Great food as in the burgers are made from scratch. Phad Thai - who has that in a pub? Phenomenal salads. Every dish, and we tried a lot of them, was tasty. The crowd ran the gamut from businessmen to families on March Break. From ties to jeans. Do yourself a favor. If you're ever in this part of the region drop in to The Judge & Jury - then write a fair review. Speaking of reviews, there's something wrong with this star review scheme. Five stars is 'best meal ever'. You would not expect to have a 'best meal ever' at a pub. Perhaps the ratings should be made to reflect the type of establishment. Had this said, 'best meal ever at a pub' I would have given The Judge five stars in each category.
Run of the mill, like so many other pubs in southern Ontario they all seem to look and feel the same. I visited the pub three times which I will always do before writing a review and found it to be ok, food, service & decor were all ok, just not great, as some of the regulars would have you believe on the previous reviews. As you approach the pub, which apparently was a bank at one time ( a modern bank that is ) the building has virtually no character, whilst it is not as bad as a strip plaza pub it doesn't appear very welcoming. As to the food, I sampled Fish & Chips, Steak Pie, & curry, all of which was mediocre. The food arrived in a timely manner by two different servers both of whom did their job fine with minimal effort as well as minimal personality. Overall the pub appears to be wallowing in a sea of mediocrity, if I was passing I would maybe pop in for a pint it just wouldn't be a session pub for me. Until next time. The Pub Critic
Love the Nacho's! Great place. Warm and inviting. We have been there for lunch and dinner and we are always pleased.
I agree, best pub in Burlington. Great food, Great service and great beers on tap. I have been in here for breakfast, lunch and dinner. All the menu items are delicious. Great variety I have come in here when it has been so busy we had to get take out because there were no seats left. Fish and Chips are the best I have ever tasted. I say my one complaint is the place is too small and on the busiest days they have to trun away customers at the door.
Best pub in Burlington. Great atmosphere, friendly fun staff. and 80 Shilling on Tap. :) As if that wasn't enough the food is excellant and reasonably priced. A note for the owners: Get rid of a few TV's and the golden Tee, the fireplace would have been better on the floor. Remember it's a pub not a sports bar.
We stopped in for pre-dinner drinks before going out to another restaurant for dinner. I used to come by for drinks on Friday nights when I was younger so I was hoping for some nostalgia but all I got was the odour of the deep fat fryers and silverfish running over the table and walls.
AWESOME MEAL, GREAT SERVICE, COULD DEFINATELY BECOME WEEKLY VISIT!
food and service was very good, the chicken wraps was awesome!!we was visiting from england and stopped by for something to eat. we loved it so much we came here to eat lots of times during our stay! The staff are really nice and friendly, very welcoming
Terrible service....sucks. Don't bother....It is the worst service and resturant anyone can imagine!!!!
I am a regular and feel that the food is OK to good, (sometimes have the steak and kidney pie or fish and chips) Service is very good, I cannot think who the agumentative server would be from a previous reviewer. Overall good ambiance, sometimes difficult to get a table, but that says it all.
What makes this place is Kathy & Kim. Always well greeted once inside. Food is consistent and smiles and laughter heard all around. IT'S really about the PEOPLE and the SERVICE that makes us go back!
The food is awesome! We have been addicted for 5 1/2 yrs now. When we walk in the doors and there is a wait;we are greeted with a smile and a beer :)
Very easy goin staff, great fun, good food, brilliant atmosphere.
Quaint little pub, with countless different beers on tap, great atmosphere, and friendly service. Wait staff are mature, responsible, and friendly. I swear the chef there must be some famous guy working under cover in a local corner pub, becuase it is by far the best pub food I have eaten anywhere. The food is like going to an expensive restaurant at 1/3rd the price, and seems like it has the special touch that it was made just for you, and not like the production line feel that you get at other places.
