DELICIOUS!!

SO DELICIOUS, i returned from a trip to France last month and these crepes in Elora were even better.. the menu is amazing, a little hard to pick from with all the selection. The service we had was great, the young girl was so kind and polite.. we will definitely be back again!

mmm...hmm!!

So yummy! Enjoyed our lunch so much, we returned later that evening without the kiddies for dessert and live music. Went for a Saturday brunch after taking in some of the sites. Service could've been faster, but didn't wait too long considering how busy it was - the kids were entertained with colouring (they even had a children's gallery) and a chef giving out balloons. Nice artsy small-town feel..and the crepes were worth the wait! Took a while to get out though, you had to go up to the front to pay - bit of a pain at a crowded register. Went back for some desserts and found the place rearranged and candlelit, rocking with female blues vocals and a local crowd. Didn't stay long, but had fun! Great coffee.

Could be better!

I'm disappointed with the Creperie's overall delivery...staff are hard-working and pleasant, but they don't seem to be enjoying themselves. The atmosphere has changed since my last visit and the familiar staff (with 1-2 exceptions) don't seem to be there anymore. The Artwork is great and I like the music and general ambiance. The local artists must contribute a lot of time and effort to this cafe . Too bad the food doesn't match up with the art. I've had much more exciting crepes in Montreal....overall better presentation and dollar value.

I Have to Agree, Disappointed

I have to agree with the poster above. Needs work. We arrived in town after hiking and my blood sugar was getting low and I was very hungry. I wanted something "quick" since we would be having dinner later. We saw "cafe" right in front of us and I imagined quick--slice of pizza, sandwich, muffin, you know, quick. The only table for 5 away from the flies in the front window had a reserved sign on it, but for the hour we were there no one showed up. We sat in a fly infested area first but moved splitting up our party. Noticing only 1 waiter/cashier and that the owner was having a business meeting was my first clue this might not work out. I expected a menu on the wall but it was sit down menu service. We got our own menus since the waiter was busy. He took an order for 5 drinks, got mine wrong, and it was a little warm and took far too long. The menu was mostly crepes and sandwiches. We each ordered a crepe around $9.99, then we waited, and waited. There was another table of 3 who were ahead of us, perhaps a couple people on the patio and 2 men already seated. So they were only about 7 or 8 others besides us 5. So, we waited, and waited 40 minutes! I wanted ice added to my beverage but the waiter never returned. I wondered if the waiter had to also cook but my husband said, "Oh there's a kitchen in the back with a chef I'm sure." After 40 minutes, just as the poster above commented, our 3 of our plates arrived with a flat crepe and nothing more. The other 2 in our party continued to wait. I got up to inquire where the other 2 were and saw the "chef" making the crepes right there behind the counter. She had not even begun cooking the other two until the 40 min. mark--so what was she doing for the other 39 min? dishes? She could have said, "go shopping and come back in 40 min.". The last two crepes were 1. Nutella with bananas and 2. chocolate mousse. HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO SPREAD NUTELLA OR MOUSSE ON A CREPE? I was so disapointed with the long wait, because not only was I was starved, but I was afraid the shops would close before we got to any. My husband and I had ordered the tuscan - ham, cheese, mushrooms, onion. They were tastey as they were drizzled with an infused oil I believe, and had good pesto accompanying, but it was basically just chunks of ham and a slice of cheese that wasn't melted at all. How long does that take to cook? You make a crepe on your crepe maker, take ingredients from a bowl, put them in a crepe - 2 minutes! There was no garnish and the teens' dessert crepes didn't even have a dolop of whip cream on them, there were just a flat crepe. Why not drizzle chocolate on the chocolate ones? Why not a piece of fresh fruit on the side of the fruit filled one, or with some added syrup, why not go to Google images and get some ideas! The "chef" who brought our food told us she was an apprentice and just learning, so this is why it took so long. She also said something about "everyone arriving at once and we were last". Everyone? The restaurant, by the time we got our food, had 8 people in it including us 5. What would she do at supper hour? The owner was friendly but maybe he should have gotten his butt off his chair, made our crepes and then finished his meeting. We had arrived 4:15, weren't served until 5:00. Many stores were closed when we finally got out.

needs serious improvement!!!

Ok if you are going to call yourself a restaurant than do it properly!!!!! when you order a salad somewhere especially priced at over 7$ you expect to get a fair size!!!! the opposite happens here, you get a side salad with a smattering of extras. ??????? not a roll to accompany? or ordering a crepe, not cheap either wouldn't you expect a garnish of some sort? nope you get your small crepe on a plate and thats it! actually thinking back the best way to put it is like ordering off the childrens menu at adult prices! COME ON!! with a prime location like that if you can manage to put a few decent things on peoples tables sucess could be yours!! SAD!
