My husband and I went here this past weekend, 1st time being there. What a nice place, all staff were pleasant and the food was hot and delicious. I would definitely recommend this place and I look forward to going back. Our waitress Melody was extremely nice and knowledgeable.
I have been having lunch at the Bluebird for many years. I love the new bar ,and being on my own most of the time I choose to sit there. The food is great and I especially order the fish feature for lunch. I can even customize my order with a few extra prawns. ALL the servers make me feel like a somebody. Our lunch was amazing, the food is always so good in here, dessert is to die for, the owner makes all the dessert fresh in the early hr's. My parents were so impressed. Suggest to make a reservation if you want a window seat as that is what everyone seems to want.
They have a great round table at the front for a large group. The new decor is lovely (colors of a Bluebird) and there is a small bar to sit and have a predinner drink ,well you wait for your table. Very clean, friendly . Everything on the menu is wonderful, there is also a TakeOut Area, if you call ahead, you can pickup on your way home, this is located at the back of the building. Great staff.

so this is usually my favorite place for a girls lunch out, they do have about the best homemade soup in town. The prices are reasonable, but have been creeping up lately. My only concern with this place is they have now packed the tables so close to one another that you feel like you are sitting on top of your nieghbour. The food was delicious, but the blonde older waitress was obviously rushed and had no time for us. Not to mention rude. I have been told she is the owner. you would think she would know better.
The food and service was great.
My friend was in a wheelchair and they were very accommodating to us. Thanks to our server Denise who took great care of us through out the evening.
I used to live within walking distance of the Bluebird years ago, and still miss it. Recently went back, the decor has changed, but I was happily suprised they still had their escargots pernod, one of my faves there. Our pasta dishes were superb, we needed more bread to soak up the sauce which was readily provided.
We ordered take out and they timed it to be ready at the end of our meal, rather than sitting on the table during our meal.
I've always had a good experience here, and suprisingly enough one of the staff remembered me as one of their original customers way back when they were new. I'd recommend it for the food alone, but also have not had any bad service issues there.
I have tried lots of little bistros and cafes hoping to find a little spot like this close to where I live and so far have just been sorely disappointed, I wish Orangeville would send us some of their restaurants ;-)
We visited the Bluebird Cafe last night for the first time. We were a little apprehensive about the service after reading some of the recent reviews. Not only was the food excellent, the service was friendly, responsive and very helpful, including the blonde waitress.
We would not hesitate to return.
I read with amusement recent reviews of The Bluebird. I have been going to The B.B. for years.

best to get her to crack a smile. Forget it! It's almost
part of the ambience now. Who knows...maybe she has had a lousy shake in life. We keep going back because the food is excellent. The serving sizes
are sensible & the bread is fabulous.

I have been in Orangeville for 12 years and Blue Bird has been my number one favourite restaurant in Orangeville. My friend and I went there 3 weeks ago for dinner and had a very RUDE service from - yes - the older blonder person who NEVER showed any pleasantness and not even said thanks and looked at me when I paid. WHen my friend paid, she said "voila" ???? The food that night was OKAY compared to my past years of experience eating at this restaurant. I came home and i told my hubby that I will never return there again. THe following week, I was telling one of my clients about my experience and he said that they also had the same expreience from the same person - and the reasoning of the other staff is that she is having a BAD DAY b/c of shortage of staff. Well - need we ask why maybe the staff are not coming in if her attitude is like that???
My client convinced me to go back and try again. I think I will and if she is RUDE again, I will pretty much tell her upfront and not go back again.
It is too bad that a beautiful pleasant restaurant 12 years ago is losing its quality...
The food is always awsome but the staff are very rude and snoody and not to mention slow service! So what I would recommend if you can't get past the stuck up staff is order from the take out kitchen food is still very good and you don't have to deal with the rude and snoody!!
this is one of the best resturants I have ever been too, great food, nice staff, great atmasphere, reasonable pricing. We go there almost twice a month. Making reservations would be best on a saturday night. The service is good, they approch you right away with your menus and drink orders. The food ttastes homemade, with termendas care! wonderful!!!best resturant in orangeville. i recommend it to anyone in to anyone !!!!
Ok - I'll be the first to admit it...the staff is rude, aloof, whatever. But if you can get over it - the food is well worth it. The soups here are the best I've ever had -pick any one they're all great - pasta is not their specialty but it was fine. My hubby got the pizza he loved it. Once you have someone's attention then service goes pretty quickly - but you can be waiting a while from when you are seated to when you order, and don't bother asking for extras after you've ordered - you are on your own - so when they're there in front of you use your time wisely.

Got seated very fast but then waited and waited for waitress - after 15 minutes were about to leave when waitress finally appeared and didn't even apologize. We now only at 45 minutes to eat and was told that kitchen is really slow so suggested if we wanted to stay to order a salad and/or soup. Food was good and would go back but not for lunch - need more time if we want to try hot dish. Too bad - had heard good things about this place. Need to speed the kitchen up - the table behind us had waited so long for their food that I heard them ask for it to be bagged - they had to get back to work - at that point they hadn't even received their food.
...No words to describe the bluebird. The food was cooked to perfection, the service was friendly and knowledgeable, and the atmosphere was lovely! Clearly the best restaurant in Orangeville! I highly recomend it!

I would estimate that I have tried French Onion Soup in at least 10 restuarants. This soup here was far superior to the others. This was my first time ordering Valleo (veal) Florentine. The first thing that caught my attention was the excellent presentation. A wonderful dark sauce covered the thinly sliced sundried tomato topped veal. A potporri of vegtables sat colourfully off to the side accompanied by two baked potatos, while perfectly cooked mushrooms added the finishing touch. The exotic tastes from this dish are undescribable, as was the decitant white chocolate cheescake that simply melted in your mouth. This is a must taste to believe. Do yourself and your tastebuds a favour and try it out. Don't forget the Hockley Light Beer this was the perfect start to a great culinary experience.
