NSCC to launch wind turbine technician program in 2026
As the local industry grows, NSCC is launching a one-year Wind Turbine Technician program at Strait Area Campus, set to begin in fall 2026. The program will be a first in Nova Scotia and was developed in consultation with industry leaders, reflecting the province’s push towards green energy.

Community-led clean energy projects get boost
The Low Carbon Communities program, initiated by the Government of Nova Scotia, aims to support community-led projects that contribute to long-lasting greenhouse gas reductions. During 2024-25, program funding will support 27 clean energy and low-carbon projects including a feasibility study at Cumberland Campus that focuses on harnessing local geothermal resources.
