Our Dentists

Dr. Dustin Payne

Dr. Dustin Payne was born and raised in Cardston, Alberta. His undergraduate studies included three years at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah and one year at the University of Lethbridge. He attended Indiana University School of Dentistry in Indianapolis, Indiana from 1999 to 2003. After completion of dental school, he moved to Yakima, Washington where he was the Dental Director at Yakima Neighborhood Health Services for three years. Dr. Payne moved back to southern Alberta in June 2006 where he bought his father's dental practice of 30 plus years at the Family Dental Centre. Dustin has a wife, Jessica, and six children which keep him busy at home. He enjoys playing most sports, being outdoors and spending time with his family.
Dr. Patrick Selk

Dr. Patrick R. Selk was born in Alberta and raised in Lethbridge. Following a two year service mission, Patrick was enrolled in Biochemistry at the University of Lethbridge transferring to Weber State University after two years of studies. There, he pursued his goal of dental school acceptance, studying in the field of Zoology for another two years. After interviewing and getting accepted to multiple dental schools, Dr. Selk chose University of Louisville in Kentucky. After graduating dental school, Dr. Patrick Selk worked with his father Dr. Ruedon Selk for a few months, after which Dr. Ruedon Selk retired from 43 years of dentistry. Dr. Patrick Selk enjoys his family life having been married to his wife Jessie for over 16 years and has four wonderful children. Patrick spends a lot of time at home with his wife helping to raise their children. He enjoys golfing, mountain biking, snowboarding, and art. Patrick spends a significant amount of time coaching high school wrestling throughout the city.
Dr. Clayton Strong

I was born and raised in the southern Alberta area and completed my primary schooling with honours. I participated in many extra-curricular activities, including basketball, soccer, mountain biking, rock climbing and enjoying the outdoors. I then went on to start my post-secondary education at the University of Alberta, where I completed a degree in the sciences. I also had the opportunity during this time to complete a two year service mission in Seoul, Korea. After returning from Korea, I met and married my wife Amie (Evans). My wife and I then moved to Indiana where I was accepted to Indiana University School of Dentistry and went on to complete the four year program. While there, I received an award for my abilities in Prosthodontics (crown, bridge, veneers and smile makeovers). After graduation, my wife, myself and our first child returned to Canada and southern Alberta to purchase Dr. Strong Senior's practice and to raise our family. Our family has grown since that spring of 2005; we now have four children (two girls and two boys) and still love life here in Lethbridge and southern Alberta.
