What is a Periodontist?
A certified dental specialist who focuses on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of periodontal disease, and the placement and maintenance of dental implants
What is Peri-Implantitis?
Peri-implantitis is similar to Periodontitis, but involves dental implants. There is gingival inflammation with the presence of progressive bone loss surrounding a dental implant.

What is Periodontal Disease?
Periodontal (gum) disease incorporates Gingivitis and Periodontitis. Gingivitis is inflammation of the surrounding gums without bone loss or attachment loss caused by bacteria (plaque).

In contrast, Periodontitis is an immunoinflammatory reaction leading to gingival inflammation associated with attachment loss and bone loss, caused by bacteria (plaque)  in a susceptible host.

Gingivitis is reversible with proper home care, though it can lead to Periodontitis if plaque and calculus (calcied plaque) persists.

Periodontitis is irreversible and can lead to tooth loss, though with proper periodontal interventions the disease progression can be stopped.

What is Healthy?
A healthy periodontium (supporting apparatus surrounding teeth) occurs when there is no progressive inflammation, bleeding, or attachment loss.
Dental Implants
When a tooth or teeth are lost, dental implants can rehabilitate an empty site and maintain proper function, comfort, speech, and esthetics...

Regenerative Procedures
When teeth are affected with periodontal disease, the supporting apparatus are lost. Tissue regeneration procedures allow the reformation of lost support ....
Soft Tissue
(Gum) Grafts
When gums recede (recession), more tooth root surface is exposed, creating an unesthetic appearance that can become quite sensitive...
Deep Cleaning
To improve your oral hygiene, prevent disease and tooth loss, reduce bad breathe (halitosis), reduce gingival infammation by eliminate calculus and plaque...
Sedation
If you have dental anxiety or a high gag reflex, we provide you the options of nitrous oxide (laughing gas) and/or oral sedation...
