Worst meal ever

One of us has Celiac Disease. It's hard enough to find one meal in a restaurant that she can eat safely without disastrous results. The server was absolutely clueless. Not only did he not know what gluten meant, he did not have a clue that a reaction is serious and to be avoided. He also said glib things like "better you than me" and he obviously did not care to be educated, although he did say "we get a lot of people like you" He was smarmy and solicitoius, very unpleasant and fake. We should have left, but for safety sake ordered nachos. We asked him to check that the nachos were gluten-free. He came back and said "Well they're corn chips" We had to explain that many corn chips also have wheat flour, and these were very WEIRD looking corn chips, very floury-looking. He said there were no ingredoients on the bag! They wrere just chips covered in raw tomato, raw onionm, hot peppers, olives and cheese. Horrible. And my meal of baked lasagna, I am sure was from a Chef Boyardee can. Just horrible. We are not foodies, but we left 90% of the food. Inedible. We'll never go there again.

Excellent Quality, Truck Driver sized portions

I go to the Thurway all the time but last night we took my mom there for her birthday. The service was great, the food fantastic and they gave her a free birthday cake. How awesome is that.

I've been going there quite regularly (once a month, on average) for the past 4 years. However, after my last meal there, I will not be returning. The quality, portion size and service have all been slipping here lately. The waitress was surly, the food was greasy, and we had to wait and wait and wait to get items that should have been brought to the table along with the food, like butter and syrup for my husband's pancakes. The pancake itself was a disaster. It looked like a failed crepe, without any lightness to it at all. Just a blob of greasy, fried...dough. Horrible. My eggs were runny, the ham was poor quality. I didn't even pack it up for my dog, it looked that unappetizing! And the coffee had a cheap, bitter, burned aftertaste. Really nasty food, and I left feeling ripped off and angry. Never going back.

Visited the Thruway with twenty-four other members of the Ontario Airstream Club. All of us enjoyed ourselves and were very satisfied with the atmosphere, the service, and the food. We'll be back again, soon. The only complaint heard was that the portion of food was actually too much.

I was just at the Thruway and had my worst experience in the 8 years I've been going there. I ordered 2 milkshakes and I received to drinks that resembled thick chocolate milk. I sent them back and asked for a milkshake. The waitress was then snarky towards me for the rest of my visit. I had a bacon cheeseburger and the bun was dried out and the burger was almost black. The relish on the worst was disgusting and ruined the taste. My kids ordered the grilled cheese from the kids menu which compared to other restaurants in the area is overpriced. I'm sorry but 2 kids meals should not be more expensive than my meal. The fries on my sons plate were redunked fries and quite gross. No mints or gummy worms for the kids when the bill came. I have always enjoyed this place, especially for breakfast, and this experience has put me off from going back.

A repeat customer.

My favorite meal here is the grilled chicken breast on a bed of rice with the roast potatoes and salad. The roasted potatoes really make this meal and the service is usually pretty fast too. My brother likes the Julien Salad which is a pretty big salad on a large plate. Beckie is my favorite server lady. I like her beautiful green eyes.

Wow, the hostesses were some of the most...

Wow, the hostesses were some of the most dimwhitted people on the planet. They sat us at a table pretty much in the isle, right in the way of pretty much everyone when there were other tables open. There weren't free refills and at $2.50 a drink that gets expensive. I gave it an honest try and it sucks.

Took 15 minutes to get served and we wanted half hawaiian half just ham and they say they dont do half and half. So we order ham and bacon, it takes 35 minutes to get the pizza and it was very over cooked and fairly dry. not a good experience at all.

My Girlfriend and I took her parents here for her Dad's Birthday. We were sat by a hostess then waited 25min and no one came to our table not even for drinks. Many servers walked by but we wre still overlooked. At this point hunger sank in and one of my guests went to ask for service another 5 min went by and nothing. We walked out, and then someone came over to see us at the door. We were not looking for a handout but nothing was offer in compensation for their mishap. I have never had to walk out befor, an explanation was definatly needed
