Our New Years day dinner at South Sea was...

Our New Years day dinner at South Sea was amazing! Good thing I made reservations a few days in advance because there was a huge line up of at least a few dozen people waiting for a table and ordering take out. Tables were set up beautifully with candlelight and Chinese piano music. We ordered spring rolls and 6 entrees to share. The food presentation was very gorgeous, they looked brilliantly designed! Plates were square and the entrees were topped with a carrot that was carved into Chinese characters. The waitress told me they were good luck carrots so we ate them! Wonderful presentation and excellent attentive service even with the restaurant being so busy. While we were leaving, we were handed a gift by the manager and wished us a happy new year and kindly apologized if we waited a long time (which we didn't because we reserved).

Dinner was fantastic!!!! Our waitress was very friendly and attentive serving us even with the restaurant being quite busy. Everyone that wrote about the gorgeous food presentation was right. The food at South Sea is presented absolutely gorgeous. Very spiffy plating that I've never seen anywhere. To give an idea about their presentation if you never been to South Sea, they actually carve their carrots into Chinese characters to resemble words. It's absolutely stunning craftsmanship. Dinner tasted just as excellent as it looked. The best chinese food restaurant in the city with great food and service. I will be back and back again! Also, my wife was very excited to see a poster in the restaurant that indicated they can pack take out orders in metal handle Chinese boxes that are seen on TV shows. She's been looking everywhere for those boxes! We are probably going to order delivery next time just to get those!

I have never been to South Sea but have heard it...

I have never been to South Sea but have heard it from a colleague at work, so we tried it out dining in. Without any question, we received the most outstanding and charmful service by the young Chinese guy who served us. He barely looked 20, but yet he knew practically the contents of every entree by memory, where it was on the menu, plus he gave me a detailed overview of the best recommendations in a pictured menu. No server has ever been so thoughtful to do such a gesture. He also made my group the best cocktails ever with beautiful presentation and fruit garnish as if we were really on a tropical resort. I ordered the "Electric Lemonade" and the "South Sea Peach Paradise", and they both tasted superb. He was making drinks for other tables as well. and you can tell from his technique and moves that he's a professional bartender like you would see on TV. The food was excellent and you can taste the fresh ingredients they use. I had their executive dinner for 4 which came with 4 courses, Wonton soup, and a deluxe appetizer combination platter. Their spring rolls and general chicken are the best I ever had anywhere. Our guy server was also handling take out orders and answering phonecalls. I have never seen such charisma and professionalism in such a young individual. Wonderful meal, but outstanding delightful service to go with it. Will be back just to be served by him again!

I love dining at South Sea with my family...

I love dining at South Sea with my family. Everything tastes delicious and looks very beautifully presented. They serve big heapings of food and we always have food to take home. Service is extremely attentive and the staff all have a very charming sense of humour. They are 5 steps ahead of you when it comes to realizing what your table needs (e.g. extra napkins, refill of drinks, extra plates, etc). It was really nice of one of the staff members to give my son a tour of the kitchen and to give him a souvenir afterwards. That was a very nice gesture. Absolutely a restaurant worthy of 10 stars! I like the beautiful new menu section of their website too. I'm going to decide what to have next when I go there.
