My wife and I decided to order take out. We ordered a Small Special Pizza as we had some premade salad already at home.
I ordered at 6:05 P.M. and was told it would be ready at 6:25 P.M. I walked in the front door at that time on the dot and was pleasantly surprised to find my pizza ready for me, boxed and hot.
I made the quick trip home and opened the box. We really enjoyed the pizza but didn't find it too much better than any other pizza we had before. However, the only notable difference was the was a slightly higher quality.
But the value wasn't there for the price. The total came to $15.25 for a Small pizza with five toppings. I think I might be able get a medium sized pizza for a similar price.
We may try Abruzzo's again, but this place didn't have me after this, my first try.
I am a regular customer, and have tried practically everything on the menu. While the pasta dishes leave a little to be desired, the panzerottos are without a doubt the most delicious item that they offer. You can never go wrong with pizza either, especially for larger groups of people.
The atmosphere is low-key, with a family feel. You definitely do not go here for anything but the food since the decor lacks any taste or style. If you go during peak evening hours, good luck finding a table :).....though it is worth waiting for one.
The service is pretty good, with normal mistakes occasionally being made as you visit more often and become acquainted with the waiters/waitresses.
The only bad thing that I can say about this place, is that without fail the washrooms are always quite dirty and unkempt. If I plan on going to Abruzzo, I always make sure that I have no need of any washroom facilities before even entering the restaurant. This usually would keep me away from a restaurant, but the food is so good that I can't help myself (though I do try to forget about it).
I love Abruzzo Pizza! I went there last week after about 10 years of not going. Living in Scarborough, I kind of never found myself in the area. Not this time, I made the trip to order a Party Pizza to bring it home. The absolute best pie in the GTA! Can't wait to try some of their other menu items.
The staff was friendly and the pizza was ready in about 20 mins as promised. Busy busy place but well worth it the drive to Richmond HIll.
I had 3 toppings, pepperoni, italian sausage and red oinions. So fresh, so good! Too bad they do not have another location closer to home. If they did, I may just throw my oven in the trash!
Truly the best pizza and pizzaria style Italian food PERIOD. Absolutly HOMESTYLE COOKING. The prices are a gem for the family style fare. KID friendly no liquer a plus for the food speaks for itself. BUSY BUSY BUSY for dinner. Reserve for you will wait with baited breath for at least an hour on any given night. A tip when ordering the pizza or panzo is to get it cooked with extra sauce and cheeze ,trust me the sauce is the key and you'll crave the taste. Freshest ingredients anytime everytime no corners cut. Im the most finniky of eaters and I love this place and you will too after your first visit.
