A colleague & I had dinner at the Fishbowl restaurant after being referred there by some local residents. We enjoyed our dinner so much that we returned the next day for dinner as well. The food was very tasty and healthy, which is not always easy to find while travelling. The ambiance is quite nice, with an almost "tea room"-type setting.
The prices were fair, especially for the food portions.
We definitely left feeling quite satisfied and will certainly return again if we head up to Timmins in our future.

Menu description had scallops listed as part of the meal - could not find one! After much digging I was able to find all 4 parts of a shrimp - the mussels were so so and the dish was covered in haddock! I have had better there. The appetizers were great.
I have visited the Fishbowl since being a kid (est.1976), and this may have been the first time I was disappointed with the service. Several in my party of 14 were not seated and had to find our table themselves, the waitress brought 5 menus for our group, and after my son returned a Coke because the fountain had obviously run low on syrup, she later brought another person in my group a "see through" Coke. The food itself was good if not great, and presented in appealing china. The Fishbowl's greatest attribute is probably it's coziness, with it's many nooks and crannies for seating.
the place is nice, the service is great, the staff is friendly.
the food however... fish was soggy and cold inside. asked for it grilled. where are the grill marks? fish had the texture of being microwaved.
this isnt' the first time it has happened. success of the restaurant may prove this is not a regular occurrance...
